The East for me is much easier to pick because the West is so stacked! It was hard to choose the last 2. Did you notice I didn’t put San Antonio in there? Exactly, stacked. Right lets get started.
1) Miami Heat
This was probably the easiest decision I’ve ever made, if you’ve picked a different team there’s something wrong with you. And if you think I’m picking them because I support them, come on. LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh. Still not convinced? Birdman, Ray Allen and now Michael Beasley? “On lock” doesn’t quite say it.
2) Chicago Bulls
This team got to the conference semi finals without Derrick Rose! Imagine if he came back as MVP DRose?! I’d be scared for everyone playing them. With Joakim Noah (who I think will get defensive player of the year), Jimmy Butler, Carlos Boozer and others they are defiantly legit.
3) Indiana Pacers
It was tough who to put 2 and 3 cause Chicago and Indiana are so even on paper but I went with Chicago based on pure individual play. They got Paul George and David West who can both get it done, Roy Hibbert who has a tendency to flounder in some games and then there’s the bench which isn’t bad, but it’s not Chicago’s. So for me 3rd place is good and I hope they can prove me wrong.
4) Brooklyn Nets
Now this team has been busy through the offseason haven’t they? Jason Kidd is the new head coach, KG and Paul Pierce are now there, Andrei Kirilenko takes a pay cut for a chance of a title and they still have Williams and Lopez. They have certainly upgraded in my eyes and with that get the 4th spot
5) New York Knicks
Yes that’s right I’m giving Brooklyn the edge over the Knicks. Overall the the Knicks have a better team than the Nets but I’m not sure what JR Smith is going to do when he comes back. Will he be Sixth man of the year JR? Or will be the JR in the playoffs last season where he couldn’t buy a shot? That remains to be seen but you got Melo and Chandler so i think 5th is about right.
