All-Pro safety from the Seattle Seahawks, Earl Thomas, is expected to make his return to a Seahawks practice field soon. The news out of Seattle has been up and down recently with quarterback Russell Wilson and linebacker Bobby Wagner both signing new deals with the team but safety Kam Chancellor has elected to holdout for a new deal. Chancellor has three years left on his current deal with Seattle.
While the fate of one safety is unclear at the moment, the future of the other starting safety is very positive. Earl Thomas has been cleared and will be activated off the PUP (Physically Unable to Perform) list and is expected to play week one for the Seahawks when they face off against new-look division rivals, the St. Louis Rams.

Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas, who underwent surgery on his left shoulder after last season, passed his physical on Wednesday and was removed from the team’s physically unable to perform list.
It’s a positive step in his recovery, though it remains unclear when Thomas will return to practice in a full capacity and whether he will partake in any preseason games.
A source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that he would be “shocked if [Thomas] doesn’t play Week 1.”
Thomas is one of the founding member of Seattle’s ‘Legion of Boom’ alongside Chancellor and Richard Sherman. Last season, Thomas finished with 97 tackles and an interception for Seattle. His toughness was tested during the Super Bowl after Thomas suffered a shoulder injury during the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers.
Seemingly with one arm, Thomas played in the Super Bowl against the New England Patriots and recorded 9 tackles in the game.
With Thomas ready to go for week 1, it appears the injury bug that chewed up the Seahawks to end last season has flown away and they should all be ready to go once the season starts.
