Quite possibly the top receiver in the 2017 NFL free agent class is now off the market. Alshon Jeffery, a wideout that the Chicago Bears did not want to trade during the regular season who also had a suspension due to PEDs, will depart from the Windy City and head east to Philly.
The Pro Bowl wideout is reportedly headed to Philadelphia on a one-year deal and reportedly is willing to risk long-term, big money elsewhere to prove himself to the NFL. The Eagles had their eyes on Jeffery for a while now.

Jeffery, 26, was a second-round pick in the 2012 NFL draft by the Bears. He played out the final year of his four-year, $4.54 million rookie contract that included a $1.74 million signing bonus before receiving the team’s franchise tag. The Bears did not franchise tag him again and let him test the market. In 2016, Jeffery appeared in 12 games and caught 52 passes for 821 yards receiving and two touchdowns for the Bears who very much underwhelmed all season long. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 33 receiver out of 115 players at his position.
