Philadelphia Eagles hosted the Cleveland Browns in their week one contest and handled them pretty easily. Behind rookie quarterback Carson Wentz, the Eagles handled business, played good defense and held down homefield. It was a clean win and there was no drama attached to it. Just over a week later, there might be some drama headed the Eagles way on Monday Night Football.
In week one, a number of players across the NFL followed in the footsteps of Colin Kaepernick and elected to make a statement during the National Anthem. Fists were raised, players kneeled and an entire team locked arms in a sign of solidarity. Some players did nothing and there was a sense that some might have not wanted to do anything due to the memorable date of the first NFL Sunday, 9/11.
Now as week two approaches, it appears another team is going to make a statement of their own. The Philadelphia Eagles are planning on making a National Anthem statement. Their week two game will be against the Chicago Bears in the Windy City on the primetime stage of Monday Night Football.
