Howie Roseman regained control of the Eagles front office this offseason after the team parted way with Chip Kelly. Roseman has been the team’s general manager since 2010 but did not have roster control in 2015. While Roseman did not point the blame at Kelly for the anemic signings of DeMarco Murray and Bryon Maxwell, it is basically the message he was sending.
“When you look at it, some of the mistakes we’ve made have been going out and spending a lot of money,” Roseman said, via USA Today. “A lot of those mistakes were on guys that aren’t our own. They were guys that we’ve brought from another organization, and we thought we knew.”
Roseman quickly dealt Murray and Maxwell this offseason trying to completely clear any player associated with the Chip Kelly era. Roseman’s most notable move this offseason was moving up in the draft for Carson Wentz. The Eagles hope they landed themselves a franchise quarterback or it could be Roseman looking for a job in the near future.
