The runners who escaped the maze the first time are back on the run in a new trailer for Maze Runner: Scorch Trials.
After being trapped in a strange prison at the center of an enormous maze, Thomas (Dylan O’Brien) leads his surviving friends to freedom, only to discover that the world has been destroyed by a massive solar flare and a deadly virus.
In Scorch Trials, they think they’ve been rescued until Thomas begins to suspect that their new guardians aren’t what they appear to be.
Scorch Trials also stars Kaya Scodelario, Ki Hong, Alexander Flores, and Dexter Darden.
The third and final installment The Death Cure recently went into development and is expected to release February 2017.
The Maze Runner: Scorch Trials hits theaters September 18.
