
Kodak Black has earned his first number one album on the Billboard 200 Charts. After releasing his sophomore studio album last week, Kodak Black has managed to move approximately 89,000 units. In the album’s first week, sales have been primarily driven by streaming. During the first week, the album moved about 82,000 units through streams which means Kodak’s project was streamed over 110 million times during its first week.
Following behind Kodak Black, Meek Mill’s Championships held the number two spot on the charts with a strong showing of 83,000 units moved. At number three and four, the soundtrack to A Star Is Born and Michael Buble’s Christmas sold 63,000 units respectively.
Rounding out the top five, the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse comes in with 52,000 units. The project featured a star studded cast that includes Lil’ Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Juice WRLD and many more. The movie performed equally well at the box office by pulling in $35 million in revenue across America and Canada during its opening weekend. The success of the soundtrack caps an incredible year for Hip-Hop led soundtracks that includes the soundtracks to Black Panther, Uncle Drew, Superfly and Creed II.
