The Miami Heat have played on Christmas day every year since 2008, but it looks like they will get to be with their families this upcoming season.
According to the Sun Sentinel, the preliminary schedule for next season has December 25th off, but the schedule is still subject to change. The Heat are not playing on Christmas because they have lost their star player, and this will likely be a rebuilding season for them.
Speaking of Dwyane Wade, when will he return to Miami? From the Sun Sentinel:
“In addition to the lack of a Christmas game, the Sun Sentinel has confirmed that Wade and the Chicago Bulls will make only one visit this coming season to AmericanAirlines Arena, on Nov. 10.”
Wade’s return to Miami will be early in the season, and I’m sure Heat fans will treat it like a playoff game. It will be the first time they see Wade play in Miami with another city on his jersey, and the game will surely be highly anticipated. Expect a packed house in the AmericanAirlines Arena on Nov. 10th, because Heat fans will be ecstatic to give the best player in franchise history one last thank you for everything he did for them.
