Dwyane Wade just finished a great season with the Miami Heat. In his 12th season with the team, he averaged 19 points with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Dwyane is 34 years old, and his next contract may turn out to be his last contract. He hasn’t said just how much he will be looking for or how many years he will ask for, but one thing he knows for sure: he wants the negotiations to go smoothly.
Wade says he hopes contract negotiation is smooth “but there’s a lot lot of moving parts,” and “I don’t pay myself.”

Wade has been the face of the entire city of Miami for years now, and he definitely seems like he would like to return to the team and finish his career there. He doesn’t know how many more years he will play though, and his contract length may not determine how much longer he plays either.
Wade: “Just because I sign a contract doesn’t mean that’s it or I will play my contract out.”

Wade will definitely finish his career in Miami, and he loves the way that they team is developing its talent. He thought that this season was a solid step in becoming a championship, and it wasn’t a championship or bust kind of season.
Dwyane Wade says the season was a success and “maximized.” Feels team took a step. Didn’t feel it was championship or bust.
