Lakers fans may just be seeing Dwight Howard in that purple and gold for the foreseeable future if latest reports are any indication. The superstar center is apparently willing to ink a long-term extension if he is dealt out west to the Lakers. Howard had long stated his preference for the Brooklyn Nets but Los Angeles emerged as a more desirable trading partner for the Magic once Brook Lopez re-signed with the Nets.
Lopez is not eligible to be traded until January at the earliest whereas the Lakers are believed to be engaged in talks with Cleveland to help facilitate a three-way deal centered around Andrew Bynum.
One potential holdup is Bynum’s unwillingness to sign a long-term extension in Orlando.
