Dwight Howard is one of the most interesting stars turned villains in recent memory. Mostly because of the utter lack of villainy in his personality on the court. A fun loving, big man who blocks shots, dunks, and hopefully blocks a couple more shots, his life under the paint is well documented. In fact, some of the vitriol he receives comes from those who are angry about his lack of development from anywhere but near the paint.
According to Dwight on ESPN’s “The Jump”, he is attempting to remedy this problem by trying to add a three-point shot to his game.
Many big men have done so in recent years; Marc and Pau Gasol, Brook Lopez, and Anthony Davis, to name a few. Now Dwight, who has taken nearly 94% of his career field goal attempts from inside 10 feet, will attempt to evolve as the league does. This will be fantastically comical experiment to many who have seen Dwight Howard clank 44% of his free throw attempts. Thinking of shooting anything other than a post hook, let alone anywhere beyond the three point arc, will be interesting to say the least.
It appears this won’t be his first venture into becoming a floor spacer. In his career, the big man has attempted 56 three-pointers, hitting just five. This season alone he even attempted a couple of long range bombs.

Let’s just say, he better be working really hard.
