Orlando travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers on Sunday, and although Howard will be spared the hostility of the crowd in the safety of the Staples Center, he does admit that facing his former team for the first time will be “weird.”
Howard was eventually traded out west after a prolonged saga in which he back-flipped on a decision many times. After last night’s dominant 28-point, 20-rebound game, he was asked about his feelings on facing his former teammates.
“Well, you know, it’s going to be a little weird playing against my former team,” Howard answered. “But we need a good win and [to] come out with a lot of energy. So I’m going to put all my effort into getting ready for the next game and playing with a lot of intensity and just having fun.”
