The Houston Rockets are going to get swept. Just thought I would start with that. Honestly before the last couple days of the regular season I thought the Houston Rockets were done. I thought the West was over. Silly me right?!
The Rockets don’t deserve to be here, but when the Jazz blow it somebody has to take 4 more L’s against the championship favourite. One reason why the Rockets even put themselves in that position was Dwight Howard. I don’t think he knows where he stands in the team. Is he Harden’s right hand or is he just there? Whether Dwight gets touches or not, he will be a team player and do whatever is needed.
“I think we average one-to-two passes before we shot the ball,” Howard said. “More passes and get everybody involved and make them have to play defense throughout the shot clock.”
Howard isn’t going to demand to touch the ball more or become the second option in the offense after James Harden, the leading scorer. Howard said his goal is to do whatever he can to push the Rockets to a possible upset of the Warriors, who they trail 1-0 in this best-of-seven series.
“As a competitor, I’m going to get the job done, no matter what it takes,” Howard said. “If I get the ball, if I don’t get the ball, if I score two points or I score 30 points. I got to go out there and play as hard as I can as long as I’m on the floor, that’s all that really matters.”
Now this is the only time in a long time where I feel like Dwight is the victim here. Why does he have to wonder where he’s at? It’s the Playoffs. Every player should know where they stand and what they need to do for the team in order to win. He shouldn’t be jerked around, flapping in the wind.
