So the Houston Rockets are once again starved out of a final appearance, they faced a Golden State team that is just so deep it was written by the time they lost by 35. And funnily enough the nail in the coffin was due to James Harden having one of the most tragic Playoff performance of his career. It seems that with the Rockets everything starts and ends with James Harden.
So where does Dwight Howard fit in? If you ask me, I don’t have an answer. I’ve been saying that if I don’t see Dwight’s happy go-lucky emotion it’s a good thing, but yet, the Rockets crashed out of the Playoffs. That didn’t stop Dwight from saying that ‘He’s still a champion’.
“It’s tough, but I won’t stop fighting,” Howard said. “I’m going to continue to push myself to the limit and remember that, no matter how he season ends, I’m still a champion. And I won’t let anyone tell me anything different.”
Ah I hate to bring it to you Dwight, but you’re not a champion. Either Cleveland or Golden State will be champions. You my friend are not, and that’s unfortunate, when you and the Rockets beat the Clippers you were sky-high, but then came the Warriors and we both know the end of that story.
On the plus side, I think we should all admire his willingness to keep on trucking, or maybe he’s just saying the cliché stuff that every player says after a loss. It’s a fine line.
