A Knee Injury Will Sideline Dwight Howard
A few years ago, Kobe Bryant decided to head off to Germany in the off season to do a treatment on his knee, the Plasma Rich Platelet Therapy treatment (PRP). It’s not a treatment get done if you’re just trying to fix a small bump or bruise, the treatment is used when you’re trying to get a joint to keep working through a long grind. Not a good sign this early in the season.
Since then, the treatment has been called the ‘Kobe Therapy’. But now, one of Kobe’s former teammates, Dwight Howard, will be doing the same treatment and is missing some games for it.

The Houston Chronicle reports the following:
Howard said Friday that he underwent a “PRP” treatment on his right knee on Thursday, the same cutting-edge procedure that Bryant used on his knee in 2013…
The Rockets have listed him as day-to-day with a strained right knee and Howard said he would have to see how he feels on Saturday to know whether he could return in time to face the Dallas Mavericks. But Rockets coach Kevin McHale said Howard is “probably” out and Rockets players have talked about having to play without him.
Bottomline is the Rockets NEED Howard. James Harden can’t do it all on his own and with out starting power forward Terrence Jones, the team isn’t looking too good up front. They’ve already lost to the Lakers and tonight, they play the number 1 offense in the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks.
Houston, we have a problem.
