The Duke Blue Devils, like most teams this Men’s College Basketball season, were underwhelming overall. But they did have their moments.
Sure those moments was Grayson Allen tripping people over but they’re moments nevertheless. But let’s be honest, it wasn’t about the Blue Devils this season, it was all revolving around one man, one Freshman. Brandon Ingram.
The projected top 2 pick has made it official, he’s out of Duke and will head to the NBA.
The freshman announced the expected move Monday in a first-person story posted on The Players’ Tribune website. Duke spokesman Cory Walton said Ingram is hiring an agent, which means he will not be returning to school.
“On one hand, one year at Duke isn’t a very long time. I know that,” Ingram wrote in the story. “But I’ve done a lot of growing, and growing up, in that time.”
“Brandon Ingram was a special player at Duke this year, and his best basketball is still ahead of him,” Krzyzewski said. “He is a no-maintenance player who loves the game, has a strong desire to get better and competes every time he steps on the floor.“
Last year I said that Jahlil Okafor was overrated, and I was half right. But I think Brandon Ingram is definitely worth the top 2 projection, he will definitely do well in the NBA. And for a College Freshman he certainly has a lot of tattoos.
