DuckTales is returning for a new series on Disney XD.
The cult animated series is to be revived for a new run on the channel in 2017.
The update will once again follow the adventures of Scrooge McDuck – Donald Duck’s uncle – and his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie.
Other characters expected to return include Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell & Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys, Mrs Beakley and Webbigail Vanderquack.
Disney XD’s Marc Buhaj said this about the reboot:
“DuckTales has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history.
“It drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’s comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults.
“Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
The original series aired 100 episodes from 1987 to 1990, followed by DuckTales the Movie: Treasure of the Lost Lamp.
