Let’s face it, 97 MPH is fast. It turns out to be about 154 KM/hr. We are all guilty of driving fast at sometimes, but none of us are NBA players. Especially NBA players who have tons of fans on Snapchat that will definitely call them out on driving 97 MPH. That is why Andre Drummond is apologizing.
The 21 year old, was driving ridiculously fast while posting the Snapchat, and it just wasn’t a smart move. Even Stan Van Gundy, had something to say about it.
According to Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
I know you’re young and you think you’re indestructible, but for the people that care about you, it’s scary as hell.
I don’t want to wake up and read about Andre Drummond in an accident. That’s the issue to me.
Drummond also gave his 2 cents on the incident. per ellis:
“Yes,” said Drummond when asked if he was the subject of the photo at the Palace on Saturday night. “It was a silly mistake. I’ll own up to it and move on from here. It won’t happen again.”
Asked why he was driving at 97 miles per hour, Drummond said: “Silly mistake on my behalf; it won’t happen again.”
You have to watch out, where you are posting things, especially as an NBA player. I don’t want to beat up Drummond too much, because everyone has driven over the limit sometime in their life, but he needs to be more careful. Him in an accident, wouldn’t be pretty for his family or the Detroit Pistons.
