Drew Gooden wanted to return for Washington for the 2015-16 season, and he is getting his wish.
Drew Gooden goes back to Wizards: 1 year, $3.3M, per source. @WojYahooNBA first with agreement. Wiz have done nice job adding depth.

Gooden said last season that he wants a bigger role on the team during this coming season. Ordinarily, I would say it is out of the question for someone like Gooden(who turns 34 this September) to ask for a bigger role. However, the Wizards don’t have a huge amount of depth behind Gortat and Nene, so perhaps Gooden will get his wish.
Other than that, there’s not too much to say about this move. Gooden’s not a big-time player, and this isn’t a big-time contract. He’s a useful role player who can pull down rebounds and shoot the long ball, and the wizards can use players who can shoot, especially after the departure of crunch-time scorer Paul Pierce.
The 6’10” stretch-4 shot inefficiently from the floor last season(39.9%) but was quite efficient from long-range(39%). He averaged 5.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game on the season.
