Drew Brees has agreed to a new deal with the Saints that will seemingly keep him in New Orleans for the rest of his career. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, via a source informed of the deal.

This extension is basically a one year extension. The deal for Brees gives him more money in 2016 but absolutlely gives the Saints more cap flexibility moving forward with a clear idea that Brees will be back in 2017.
“Like I always said, these contract situations are just part of the process,” Brees told reporters at a news conference Wednesday. Both sides are very happy, certainly I’m very happy. I want to play my entire career here … I’ll be here for as long as they want me.”
Brees enters this season at 37. He is still a highly productive quarterback so bringing him back for another year made a ton of sense. He is the only quarterback in the NFL to register QBR score of 70 or higher in each of the past three seasons.
