Golden State Warriors point guard Draymond Green, on his Dray Day podcast, gave his two cents on a variety of hot topics. He called Boston Celtics big man Kelly Olynyk a “dirty player.” Transcribed by Marcus Thompson II of The Mercury News:
“Kelly Olynyk is a dirty player, man,” Green said on Dray Day. “He’s dirty. Dirty player, man. I don’t respect guys like that. I mean, I know he’s not like the greatest basketball player of all time, so maybe you feel like you got to like do that, but you don’t like – just dirty. Like I don’t respect that man, he dirty. … This dude be out there trying to hurt people man, I don’t rock with bruh like that.”
Green, who has been called a dirty player more often than most, has little room to talk. Calling Olynyk a dirty player is somewhat warranted given his actions in the past, but Green is not the right guy to critique him; it comes off as hypocritical.
Green also ripped the Ball family’s $495 “ZO2” shoe:
“Even those that can afford that shoe don’t want to associate themselves with him,” Green said of LaVar Ball, father of the UCLA star who is expected to be a top pick in the 2017 NBA Draft. “So the audience you’re going after, you have already made dislike you.”
On Saturday, New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis tweeted “Los Angeles Clippers” followed by three smiley face emojis. Porzingis deleted the tweet and claimed that his account was hacked. Green doesn’t buy it:
“You lyin’ bro. I had a worse episode than you did on social media, and the first thing I said was, ‘Aw man. I was hacked.’”
Green has a point; the typical reaction by celebrities after doing something stupid on social media is “I was hacked.” However, social media accounts do get hacked. That happens and could be the case here.
