Draymond Green is not the most beloved man in Oklahoma City by any means. His taunting and jeering ways make him an unpopular player in most NBA arenas. The animosity towards Draymond Green is apparent tenfold in OKC, though. Green and the Warriors have gone head-to-head with the Thunder in the postseason, and Green infamously kicked Steven Adams in the jewels in the 2016 playoffs. Draymond has no hard feelings towards the Thunder, but he knows that feeling is far from mutual, he told Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated:
Green was glad that [Carmelo] Anthony landed there and wasn’t nervous for the Warriors.
“I’m happy for him. It doesn’t change my views to who we are as a team,” Green told The Undefeated. “But I’m happy for him, definitely. I don’t hate OKC. They hate me. I don’t hate them. I don’t care. You’re adding a guy who can give you 20 [points] a night. It is definitely going to make you better. I think it definitely helps them.”
Green also said that Anthony was clearly “over” playing for the Knicks:
“You could kind of see that [Anthony] was over it,” Green said. “I think he handled it the best he possibly could. I have a lot of respect for the way he handled it. I’m just happy to see that he is out of a situation that he didn’t want to be in.
