As we’re only a day away from the start of playoff basketball, not only have matchups been set but playoff predictions have also made their way around as well. Subsequently, the default choice of a Cleveland Cavaliers vs the Golden State Warriors third straight matchup has been resonating amongst some fans.
However, after the memorable blown 3-1 lead by the Warriors and the acquisition of superstar Kevin Durant in the off-season, there are many narratives going against the Warriors because of their higher status. Warriors forward Draymond Green not only hears the scrutiny against them but seems to be feeding off it and enjoying it.
Following from Marc Stein of ESPN.
“I’m looking forward to that scrutiny because it’s great,” Green said in the SportsCenter interview, which aired Friday. “If you don’t have scrutiny, if you don’t have pressure, if you don’t have spotlight, you’re not doing something right. No one cares. So I’m looking forward to it.
“It’s been a great [regular season]. The scrutiny has kind of been there — it’s up and down — but playoffs … it’s a completely different level of everything. So I’m definitely looking forward to it. It’s fun.?”
It will be interesting to watch as the Warriors go into the playoffs with even more expectations than last season and to see how they respond. The Warriors first test will be against the Portland Trailblazer in game one on Sunday at 3:30 PM.
