Tonight, the Golden State Warriors will be just one win away from an NBA Championship and a complete 16-0 sweep of the playoffs. After a come from behind victory in game 3, the Warriors look poised and determined to accomplish both achievements.
However, the Warriors will have to win their second straight game on a very daunting opposing arena with the Cleveland faithful’s in full force. Although it will be a tough task, look no further than last year when the Cavaliers won game 7 on the road and celebrated a championship win in Oracle.
Someone who wants that same feeling, of winning a championship on the opposing teams’ court, is none other than Draymond Green. Not shy, Green shared that he’d want nothing more than to win tonight in front of Cleveland’s fans.
Following from Al Iannazzone of Newsday.
“It would be very satisfying to do that,” Green said at practice Thursday. “Obviously we’ve won it here before. It’s a good feeling. We’re celebrating on their floor, celebrating in their locker room, quieting their crowd. As an athlete, one of the best feelings is going into an opponent’s and enemy territory and just silencing their crowd.”
Although he has shown is excitement, Green also recognizes that a win tonight won’t be easy and the Cavs won’t go out without a fight.
“This isn’t a team that’s going to come out and say, ‘We’re down 3-0, we’re laying down,’” Green said. “They’re going to come out and fight.”
