Aubrey Drake Graham has been ordered to sit for a virtual disposition in the trial of Dedrick Williams, one of the three suspects connected to the death of Jahseh “XXXTentacion” Onfroy.
Attorneys representing Williams have attempted to have Graham deposed for several months. Court documents obtained by Billboard suggest Drake was initially scheduled to sit for a deposition on January 27. However, he failed to appear for the meeting. As a result, his deposition has been rescheduled for a deposition on February 24. If he were to miss the scheduled deposition, he may be held in contempt of court.
Drake’s involvement in the trial of Dedrick Williams stems from rumors of a feud between the Toronto native and the late Florida musician. In 2017, the social media rumor mill pointed to an alleged beef between the two artists after similar flows were used in XXXTentacion’s “Look At Me” and “KMT” by Drake.
“Onfroy relentlessly taunted Graham on social media making statements about his mother and even posting a picture of a Drake look-alike with semen on his face,” court documents from December 2022 read.
Months after the initial rumors were introduced, XXXTentacion posted a message to his Instagram Story accusing Drake of being involved in his death if he were to be killed.
“If anyone tries to kill me it was [Drake],” he wrote.
Immediately after posting the message, XXXTentacion claimed he was hacked. Four months later, the Florida native was shot and killed at a car dealership at 20 years old. Two days afterward, Williams was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Michael Boatwright, Robert Allen and Trayvon Newsome were also arrested in the weeks that followed and charged with first-degree murder.
