Drake has announced the launch of a new partnership with live entertainment giant, Live Nation. Together, Drake and Live Nation are opening History, a live entertainment venue in Toronto. History is a 2,500 seat venue that will “offer artists a versatile and intimate destination to perform and connect with fans.” Drake and Live Nation hope to host upwards of 200 events at the venue per year.
“We saw an opportunity to bring Toronto a great new venue, and we have so much gratitude and respect for Drake teaming up with us to bring it to life in the best way possible,” Live Nation Entertainment President Michael Rapino said.
“History will offer guests up-close experiences with their favorite artists that are unrivaled in Toronto. We take pride in and expect History to become an important part of the community,” Live Nation Canada Chairman Riley O’Connor added.
History has been in the works for more than years and is set to be complete later this year. As Canada begins to ease COVID-19 instructions, Live Nation and Drake hope to open the venue this fall. The first slate of shows and events is set to be released later this summer.
