Drake is too big to fail at the moment. Coming off of a summer full of controversy, Drake managed to pull in over a billion streams last year with Scorpion. In addition, Drake added featured verses to four platinum records, went on a worldwide tour with the Migos and dropped his latest collaboration with the Jordan brand. Not to mention, he earned seven Grammy nominations for “Sicko Mode”, “God’s Plan”, “Nice For What” and Scorpion. As 2019 gets into full swing, Drake has made his first move to keep his run going.
According to a report from The Blast, Drake has signed on for a $10 million Las Vegas residency deal. The report indicates that the Toronto artist has agreed to perform at a minimum of ten shows at Wynn’s XS Nightclub throughout the duration of the deal. While the nightclub has yet to confirm the deal, Drake hinted at the deal last week during a show in Las Vegas. Drake ended the show by stating, “I’ll be back here at XS all year. You’ll have a lot of chances to see me.” By embarking on this residency, Drake joins the likes of other stars that have made similar moves such as Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga.
