Another day means another no. 1 singer for Drake. Just over a week since the rapper premiered his “Toosie Slide” single, Drizzy has more to celebrate.
Making Billboard Hot 100 history, Drake becomes the first male artist to have 3 songs debut at no. 1. The only other artist to accomplish this is the legend, Mariah Carey. “Toosie Slide” goes on to become Drake’s 7th no. 1 single and joins his previous tunes like “Nice For What” and Rihanna’s “Work,” which he is featured on.
Adding more to the mix, the single helps Drake extend his lead of having the most no. 1 singles among rappers. “Toosie Slide” has dethroned Drake’s fellow Canadian, The Weeknd, who previously held the spot.
An honor, this will unlikely be Drake’s last no. 1 as he shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. With a new album on the way that he’s more than excited about, the star may have a few more chart topping singles in 2020. Congratulations, Drake!
