At this point, making history is part of Drake’s daily schedule. Today, Drake made history by becoming the first artist to hit 50 billion streams on the world’s largest music streaming platform, Spotify. The Canadian superstar celebrated his latest accomplishment by simply posting a picture of himself on vacation to his Instagram story. The caption read, “Drake is the first artist in history to surpass 50 billion streams on Spotify.”
This comes as no surprise to the world of music. Drake has dominated streaming charts since Spotify, Apple Music, TIDAL and Soundcloud emerged. With records like “God’s Plan” and albums like Scorpion, streaming has never been difficult for the Young Money product. More recently, he has led the streaming charts with “Life Is Good” with Future and “Laugh Now, Cry Later” with Lil’ Durk.
This year promises to be no different for the OVO Sound leader. He has continued to tease the release of his latest album, Certified Lover Boy. As the world awaits his next release, he appears to be in the Bahamas shooting a music video with Meek Mill and Lil’ Baby.
