Bender was drafted with 4th pick overall of the 2016 NBA Draft by the Suns. He played his first three seasons in the league with the Suns before the team decided to decline the option for the fourth year of his rookie contract, making him an unrestricted free agent.
Bender is still a young player who can contribute from the bench for a Bucks team that wants to compete to win the NBA Championship in this upcoming season. In this past season with the Suns, he played in a total of 46 games and averaged 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1.2 assists in 18 minutes per game.
