Doug McDermott will be joining his fifth different team when his fifth NBA season starts in the fall. He inked a deal with the Indiana Pacers for three years worth an estimated $22 million.
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN first reported the deal.

McDermott getting a longer-term deal above the taxpayer mid-level is slightly surprising considering his rather disappointing start to his NBA career. But it’s clear the Pacers are aiming to add some shooting to a playoff team looking to make a huge leap under the leadership of Victor Oladipo.
McDermott shows flashes of athleticism and his shooting is undoubtedly his best asset but if he can fit in the wing rotation, he could be a nice replacement when Bojan Bogdanovic needs a break.
In 264 career games McDermott averaged 7.9 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game but he has shot 40.3% from three-point range in his career on 2.7 three-point attempts per game. His defense needs to be elevated if he wants to pay dividends for the Pacers over the next three seasons.
