‘Dora The Explorer’ is receiving the treatment nobody asked for, the live-action special. Yes, you heard that right. They are making an action movie surrounding the world of D-d-d-d-dora. I’m pretty much speechless at this point, so I’ll let the trailer do the talking.
This trailer also has some star power. Eva Longoria and Michael Pena star as Dora’s parents and Jeffrey Wahlberg is set to be Diego. The first shot of the trailer is Dora taking an olympic size leap in a cave and it makes you wonder if this is a mix between Indiana Jones, Tomb Raider and Dora the Explorer.
The story will cover Dora who goes to high school (transferring from the Jungle) only to get kidnapped on a school field trip and shipped back to the jungle to find her parents. Their she meets a guide that leads her and her class to safety and yes, Boots is in the film.
Dora and the Lost City of Gold will hit theaters on Aug. 2. Watch the full trailer above. It’s a Paramount production.
