The Brooklyn Nets extended an offer sheet to new restricted free agent big man Donatas Motiejunas. The Houston Rockets forward was hitting the restricted free agency market after failing to reach an extension deal with the team this offseason. He could’ve signed a qualifying offer to stay with the team but he did not reach an agreement on that either.
So Motiejunas waited and didn’t reach any sort of an agreement with Houston. But over the weekend, the Nets signed their third restricted free agent offer sheet under the Sean Marks regime when they inked a deal with Donatas. Brooklyn previously signed Tyler Johnson and Allen Crabbe to their own respective offer sheets this summer.
The Rockets matched the Nets offer on Monday and awaited the return of Motiejunas. But on Tuesday he never showed. Donatas no-showed a physical and it appears that he won’t be appearing in Houston anytime soon.

Rockets options: Leave open current offer/deal and wait, or return Motiejunas to restricted free agency. He couldn't sign w/ Nets for a year

Again, Rockets can make Motiejunas a restricted free agent again, but this time, he would not be able to sign with the Nets for one year.
