Former President Donald Trump has never shied away from criticizing his political foes. On Friday, December 8, the former President directed his political critique toward former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, who is currently running to become the next U.S. President.
“Sloppy Chris Christie is not fit to run for President. He is suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome,” the former President wrote.
According to all, he came in LAST in the debate, and I came in FIRST, as I have in all of the debates, without even being there. MAGA!”
Trump’s critique of Christie two days after the former governor shared his thoughts regarding the former President during the most recent Republican debate.
“There’s no mystery to what he wants to do. He started off his campaign by saying, ‘I am your retribution.’ Eight years ago, he said, ‘I am your voice,’” Christie said about Trump’s desire to become President again.
“This is an angry, bitter man who now wants to be back as president because he wants to exact retribution on anyone who has disagreed with him, anyone who’s tried to hold him to account for his own conduct, and every one of these policies that he’s talking about are about pursuing a plan of retribution.”
As their back and forth plays out, Trump continues to assert his dominance in the Republican polls. The former President currently holds a 56.5% advantage in the most recent national poll analysis done by Five Thirty Eight.
