Former President Donald Trump has returned to his hometown of New York, New York.
The former reality show host’s Trump Organization is the focus of a $250 million civil fraud lawsuit. Trump and his associates have been accused of deceiving banks by inflating the value of their assets to secure loans and investments. On Monday, October 2, both Trump’s defense and the prosecution returned to the courtroom of Arthur Engoron to begin trial. While the trial is young, the former President wasted no time making headlines by calling for Judge Engoron to be disbarred.
“Let’s go to trial because this is a judge that should be disbarred. This is a judge that should be out of office. This is a judge that some people say should be charged criminally for what he’s doing,” Trump told the press before entering the courtroom.
“He’s interfering with an election, and it’s a disgrace.”
Trump’s words of disapproval come just a few days after Judge Engoron found the former President liable for fraud. As a result, a few of Trump’s key business licenses were rescinded. Moving forward, he runs the possibility of losing a few of his key real estate properties.
