Donald Glover locked in an eight-figure deal with Amazon last month and it appears that he’s off to quick start. During a recent interview, Glover revealed that he’s already put together a writers’ room that includes Malia Obama. The multi hyphenate star didn’t explain what Obama’s role would be, but it is believed that she’s helping out with a project that centers around a “Beyonce-like figure.” However, it is clear that Glover is impressed by Obama’s work ethic and desire to improve her work.
“I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon. Her writing style is great,” Donald Glover told Vanity Fair.
“Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writers’ room. And for sure, [Malia] definitely has a unique perspective on everything. So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us. Listening to her stories and having her involved really gave us a lot of good ideas,” Stephen Glover added.
It may be a while until we see this project come to light, but Glover will still be in front of the screen in the meantime. Earlier this week, Glover debuted the third season of his hit show, Atlanta. Season four is also expected to air later this year.
