Don Omar has revealed that he is battling cancer. On Monday, June 17, the Puerto Rican star shared a photo of his wrist wrapped in a hospital band that reads, “Orlando Health.”
“Yes, today, but tomorrow, I will be cancer free. Good intentions are well received. See you all soon,” a translation of his Instagram caption reads.
Despite his health issues, Don Omar has elected to remain active musically and tour throughout the U.S. In 2023, he returned with his latest studio album, Forever King. The album made way for a 20-date tour, running from early March to late April. In the midst of the tour, he added more than a dozen dates. This weekend, he shared a video of dancers auditioning for his upcoming tour.
“The most special thing about today’s auditions is seeing that there are people who want to encourage themselves to dream with me,” he wrote.
“Thank you to each and every one of you who gave it your all on the track! This second leg of the tour coming with everything.”
The second leg of his tour will begin on August 7 in Oakland, California. From there, he’ll make stops in Sacramento, Seattle, Portland, Hidalgo, Austin, El Paso, Los Angeles, Ontario and several other cities. Ultimately, things will conclude at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York on September 15.
