Miami Dolphins wide receiver Allen Hurns will be out for three months after suffering a wrist injury that will require surgery. Hurns has had some recent bad luck with injuries and this one comes at a pretty unfortunate time for the veteran wide receiver. Even if the surgery and recovery time goes well there may not be a roster spot in Miami for Hurns to come back to. That may be speculation, but the Dolphins prioritized their wide receiver core this offseason, and Hurns was competing for limited spots on the roster.
Dolphins WR Allen Hurns suffered a wrist injury that will require surgery and should keep him out for about 3 months, source says. @AdamSchefter 1st.
Tough for Hurns, who has had some bad luck with injuries and was in a tough battle to make roster with deep Dolphins WR room.

The NFL has changed their injured reserve policy during the COVID-19 Pandemic, so this could play into Hurns’ favor while he is hurt. With the rule, teams can put as many players as needed on the injured reserve list and reactivate them with way fewer time restraints. It is possible that he spends these next three months on that list and then comes back to the roster to help the team win games. Veteran pass catchers are always a need for teams and even more so for teams with younger quarterbacks.

Hurns has the talent to help the Dolphins offense, but he needs to be healthy to do that. We here at Def Pen Sports hope Hurns is able to recover and hit the field again as soon as he is able.
