I’ll give credit to the Los Angeles Clippers, they did good by trading Lance Stephenson for a Jeff Green who I like very much. Green is a decent replacement for Blake Griffin as he recovers from his hand injury and serves his team suspension.
Doc Rivers has coached Jeff Green before back in Boston and has him again. The Clippers had needs and Jeff Green has filled some of them according to Rivers.
“I really wanted more length,” Rivers told reporters. “When you look at the teams we have to beat, we need to get longer, more athletic, and we need to increase our shooting. And I think with Jeff we did all three of those things. … I thought of all the things that were offered, he was the best available for us.”
He definitely fills those holes, but do you honestly think that all the problems the Clippers have had throughout these underwhelming five years are now solved thanks to Jeff Green?
Do me a favour, trading for one player will not get the Clippers onto the Spurs and the Warriors’ level. They’ll never get to that level with this team and I the longer they go with this core, the more dissapointment that’ll come of it.
