WBA Light Heavyweight Champion Dmitry Bivol knows a thing or two about winning big fights. Last year, he upset the odds and outpointed undisputed super middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Months later, he defeated previously unbeaten light heavyweight contender Gilberto Ramirez. Now, he’s eyeing an undisputed title fight with fellow light heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev. While he waits for a shot to dethrone Beterbiev, Bivol will watch Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford battle for the undisputed title in the welterweight division. Recently, he was asked about the fight and he offered a bit of insight.
“I would say Crawford is the favorite,” Bivol explained.
“Because of his speed, movement, and reflexes.”
Bivol didn’t stop there. He went on to say that Crawford is the most complete fighter in the sport of boxing.
“Spence is the bigger guy in the ring and also has great ring IQ but in my opinion, Crawford is the most complete fighter of all right now,” he added.
On Saturday, July 29, Errol Spence Jr. will have an opportunity to prove Bivol wrong when he meets Terence Crawford in the center of the ring. The Showtime PPV main event is expected to begin at approximately 11 p.m. EST.
