Travis Scott’s No Bystanders from his No. 1 album Astroworld places him in hot water with Three 6 Mafia’s DJ Paul.
The Memphis musician plans to take legal action against Travis Scott for borrowing their iconic “tear the club up” mantra. DJ Paul claims the hook on No Bystanders is almost identical to DJ Paul’s 1995 song Tear da Club Up according to court documents obtained by TMZ. DJ Paul says Travis Scott uses Three-Six Mafia’s cadence, sound and performed their exact hook during the 2019 Grammy awards.
Despite being well received, it appears Travis Scott did not obtain any permissions to revive the Three-Six Mafia classic. The Blast reports DJ Paul seeks $20 million in damages and demands No Bystanders be removed from Astroworld.
Travis Scott and Three-Six Mafia member Juicy J, have previously collaborated on the song Neighbor.
