Shots fired? After being traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Oklahoma City Thunder, it looks like the newest member of the Thunder will go through a number change. Dion Waiters has worn one number for the brunt of his major career. In his time as a member of the Syracuse Orange and over his 2-plus years as a member of the Cavaliers, Dion Waiters wore number 3.
He’s now going to the Thunder, a team that already has a number 3 on the roster, in the form on Perry Jones III. For obvious reasons, 3 for PJ3 makes sense. Anthony Morrow wears #2 and there are over 30 other numbers available for Waiters to pick.
Now, according to reports from Thunder beat writer Anthony Slater, Waiters is expected to wear number 23 for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Interesting move by Waiters. LeBron James wears 23 in Cleveland and famously changed his number when he rejoined the Cavaliers. Now Waiters, who has a history of bumping heads with James in the past, will wear the same number as James.
Waiters on a team with Kevin Durant, who’s sick of finishing second especially to LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook, who has something of his own to prove, might be looking to avenge this deal in OKC.
