If there is one thing Dion Waiters would never be accused of lacking, it’s confidence. Shooting not only his shot but every other shot he can is his specialty. Following the Heat’s 108-101 victory over the floundering Charlotte Hornets, Dion Waiters spoke on some of his field goal attempts according to The Sun Sentinal,
If you don’t have confidence I don’t think you should be in this league. 90% of the game is mental.
In this league it’s make or miss. You are gonna make shots, you are going to miss shots. It is about how you handle it. Never get to high, never get to low.
Reporters then asked Waiters about the quality of some of the shots he attempted and he responded nearly exactly how one would guess,
I’m not gonna say it’s a bad shot. I’m never gonna say that. Even if it is.
Dion Waiters is probably more naturally confident than most normal human beings but this Heat stretch of stellar play has brought his bravado to incredible heights. Mean mugging, clutch shots, and crossed arms have been a staple of his game for the past month and the NBA has been a better place because of it.
