The Miami Heat have been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season. Due to injuries and a lack of talent in general, Miami has been near the bottom of the Eastern conference.
For many, the Heat’s poor play up at this juncture of the season points to a prime opportunity to tank. The Heat have their own first-round pick in what is being called a deep draft. There have been rumors about the availability of point guard Goran Dragic; trading him could ensure that the Heat get a very valuable pick.
But for one night, the tank was in the shop getting routine maintenance after Dion Waiters derailed it.
On Monday night, the Miami Heat hosted the Golden State Warriors in a game most people surely pegged as a win for the powerhouse Western squad. But Waiters was not having it.
After back-to-back poor defensive possessions late in the close game, by the Heat, Waiters took matters into his own hands. The man formerly (and maybe currently?) known as Kobe Wade stepped into a deep jumper, drilling the three to escape with a win.

And in true Dion fashion, Waiters spoke afterwards about the confidence with which he shot the ball.
Dion Waiters says he knew his game-winning shot was going in.

Dion Waiters had some success against the Warriors in the playoffs last year too. Clearly he has their number.
