Sean “Diddy” Combs may not be all too familiar with the food delivery business, but he definitely knows about marketing and making big hits. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Uber would turn to him for the next big hit…commercial.
Ahead of Super Bowl LVII, Uber has teamed up with the media mogul to develop an ad for the biggest night in advertising. The comedic, 61-second spot puts a trio of Uber marketing heads in front of Diddy’s desk as his bodyguard watches closely. One by one, the marketing gurus ask for the hit producer’s help in crafting a smash hit song for their next ad. Unfortunately, Diddy doesn’t do jingles. On the bright side, he does make hits.
After giving the green light to Uber, Diddy begins bringing a cast of hitmakers ranging from Montell Jordan to Kelis and asks them to turn their hit songs into tracks that can be used for the next Uber commercial.
“Your milkshakes cost way less than before/ This membership is better than yours,” Kelis sings to the tune of her 2003 hit record.
“Uber One/ Uber One saves me, saves me/ Way more,” “What Is Love” singer Haddaway adds to Diddy’s delight.
Ultimately, Diddy comes out with an entire album’s worth of tracks that he loves, but does Uber love them? Well, you’ll have to watch the add to find out.
