On the morning of Wednesday, July 2, 2025, a jury at Daniel Patrick Moynihan Courthouse in New York, New York, found Sean “Diddy” Combs guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The jury also found Combs not guilty of racketeering and two counts of sex trafficking.
Immediately upon hearing the verdict, Combs reportedly fell to his knees as his family members and legal team clapped and cheered. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian warned jurors about the widespread media attention they will receive in the weeks and months to come before clearing the court. Moving forward, Subramanian will accept submissions from both prosecutors and defense attorneys regarding Combs’ bail at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2.
Combs has reportedly remained at Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC), a federal facility, in Brooklyn, New York, since his arrest in September. However, after being found not guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking, the Bad Boy Records founder is no longer facing a total of five federal charges. As a result, Combs’ attorney Marc Agnifilo has asked the court to release Combs from federal custody and allow him to be released on conditions to his home in Miami on a $1 million bond. Meanwhile, the prosecution is seeking to have the music producer remain in custody until sentencing.
Combs has been found not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering, two charges that could have landed him in prison for the remainder of his natural life. However, both counts of transportation to engage in prostitution carry a maximum sentence of ten years, and the prosecution is reportedly pushing for a maximum sentence of 20 years. Judge Arun Subramanian has not yet set a sentencing date for Combs.
