
Longtime legendary college basketball announcer Dick Vitale has announced on Twitter that he is now cancer-free! The beloved college basketball commentator attempted to call games this season but had to withdraw from doing so due to treatment and surgery. This amazing news has delighted fans of the passionate fan and commentator of college basketball. He was diagnosed with lymphoma around seven months ago and underwent chemotherapy treatment. Vitale was treated at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

There is currently no word on when or if Dick Vitale will be able to return to calling games, but he is still under contract with ESPN. Vitale is currently 82 years old and has already debated retirement in the past. The sheer joy of Vitale when he rang the bell indicating he was cancer-free is truly an amazing video to watch. Vitale himself hosts fundraisers and donates himself to cancer research and treatment. His commitment to the cause is also truly heartwarming to see.
