Bryant is also expected to get a $20 million signing bonus from the Cowboys. His guaranteed money will also be the highest given to any wide receiver, more than Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson.
He is the top name to be signed by the deadline today and he set the table for another star wide receiver, Denver Broncos Demaryius Thomas, to start his negotiations. Dez had previously threatened to sit out regular season games if the contract wasn’t agreed to but luckily for Cowboys fans, Dez is now locked up. He was able to catch that great opportunity given to him.
Dez was the biggest name to sign today but there were other players to agree to contracts before the deadline. Justin Houston of the Kansas City Chiefs agreed to a huge deal earlier today, making him the second highest paid defensive player of in the NFL, also the highest paid linebacker in the league and New England Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski agreed to a deal to keep him with the defending Super Bowl champions.
