Memphis Grizzlies rookie Deyonta Davis will miss a significant part of his first season. On Thursday, the Grizzlies announced that the center will miss 6-8 weeks. He was diagnosed with plantar fascia in his left game which occurred during the Grizzlies’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
News not as good for @memgrizz Deyonta Davis who was diagnosed with torn plantar fascia in his left foot. He is expected to be out 6-8 weeks

Davis’ injury is a big blow to his personal development. However, it may not be a huge factor for the Grizzlies. Davis has only played 7.9 minutes per game in his 21 appearances. The Michigan State product is averaging 2.2 points and 2 rebounds per game.
Fortunately for the Grizzlies, they appear to getting healthier. Mike Conley has been cleared and will play in the team’s game on Friday. Chandler Parsons has also begun to practice and should be nearing a return.
The Grizzlies have been overachieving with all their injuries in recent weeks. Getting Conley and Parsons back should only bolster the team as it continues its path to yet another playoff season. Deyonta Davis’ injury hurts, but it won’t be much of a blow to the Grit ‘n’ Grind of the Grizzlies.
