With Willie Cauley-Stein looking to get a fresh start away from Sacramento, the Kings were looking for a replacement to protect the rim as well as run and stretch the floor. Dedmon should check all of the boxes the Kings were looking for and was paid as though he will. The new Kings big averaged 10.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game last season and shot a career-best 38.2% from 3-point range.
The Kings will hope that their new big man will help provide a push to help finally get Sacramento back into the playoffs.
